Project Timeline

Key milestones from conception to completion.

Phase 1

The foundation of the park is being rebuilt. This includes new water lines, storage tanks, and two fill stations to ensure reliable access. Crews are also installing new sewer lines, fiber internet, upgraded electrical systems, and reinforcing the creek for better flood protection

Phase 2

The focus will shift to sports and recreation. Regulation-standard sports fields with proper drainage will allow local teams to host tournaments at home. Families will see new playground equipment, shaded pavilions, restrooms, and a parking lot within the park. All facilities will be fully ADA accessible.

Phase 3

The final stage will prepare the park for larger community events and expanded use. Details will be shared as planning progresses.

Funding Overview

The Maxwell Park revitalization is supported by more than $6 million in dedicated funding:

$3.2 Million

from State Legislature

$3 Million

from the Community Impact Board

These funds were awarded after strong community advocacy, including over 20 letters of support from schools and organizations across the valley. The money is earmarked solely for Maxwell Park improvements and comes at no cost to other city priorities.
